Home improvements to make UK homes more eco friendly are proving slowest to catch on in the parts of the North. The allure of the solar panel, wind turbine or rainwater harvesting system has been most keenly felt in the South East and South West, according to a survey of UK properties for sale by the property search engine Globrix. There are around 755 UK homes being marketed as having one or more environmentally friendly features to the property, these properties are divided with 53 in Kent and 52 in Devon. The survey found 42 in Hampshire, 36 in Surrey and 34 in Somerset also with eco friendly home credentials.
Homes with environmentally friendly features seem in short supply in the North and Midlands, though Enviro Estates, the eco friendly estate agent, has reviewed an “eco friendly” town near Liverpool. Yet Scotland, where house prices have shot up and are still rising, according to Nationwide, has yet to see a flurry of eco-building: languishing at the bottom of the league for such homes are Berwickshire, Inverness-shire, Midlothian, Perthshire and West Lothian.
According to other Estate Agents, but not Enviro Estates, the eco friendly Estate Agent, that eco-friendly features for homes remain a luxury for most buyers, wherever the location.
Enviro Estates, the eco friendly Estate Agent, believe that small affordable homes can still be found to have eco friendly credentials, though overall very few homes possess solar panels, wind turbines and other renewable energy sources, which Enviro Estates, the eco friendly Estate Agent, believe will change due to their new brand Eco Energie, supplier of value for money renewable energy products.
